Wamberal Public School has a long-standing commitment to initiate good student wellbeing practices at school. We have made a conscious effort to support all students through a range of welfare programs and initiatives.

KidsMatter Primary is a flexible, whole-school approach to improving children's mental health and wellbeing for primary schools. It can be tailored to each schools' local needs. Through KidsMatter Primary, schools undertake a process in which they plan and take action to be a positive community; one that is founded on respectful relationships and a sense of belonging and inclusion, and that promotes:

  • social and emotional learning (including evidence-based social and emotional learning programs)
  • working authentically with parents, carers and families
  • support for students who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.

Parents/guardians and other community members are invited to attend an information session on Monday 17th September at 2pm in the Library. This session will introduce the KidsMatter framework to parents on how they can be involved in improving the mental health and wellbeing of students.
