Proposed Stopwork Meeting Thu 8th Dec, 2016

Dear Parents, The NSW Teachers' Federation has announced it will hold a one hour stop work meeting of school teachers on Thursday 8th December, 2016 from 8:30-9:30am Please note that Wamberal Public School will remain open and fully supervised. A big shout out and congratulations to the talented students who performed at this years School Spectacular. What a night to remember! Evacuation Practice

As part of our operations, we hold evacuation and lockdown practices on a regular basis. Today an evacuation practice was held and our students are to be commended on the orderly manner in which they followed instructions and participated in the practice. Great Aussie Bush Camp Update

Dear Parents, Due to heavy demand during the remainder of Term 4, our Year 5 camp has been postponed until 31st Jan-3rd February, 2017. This will mean our camp will depart on the second day of the new school year. This is a great way for our students to welcome in the new school year by spending four days together in a safe and enjoyable camp atmosphere, developing their team building and cooperative skills and a range of new and rewarding challenges. Great Aussie BushCamp Update

Dear Parents, We have been advised that fires are still uncontrolled in the vicinity of Great Aussie Bush Camp and it is likely the Pacific Highway may again be closed in this area later today. We are currently negotiating with the campsite for an alternate time for our camp, however due to the high volume of bookings at this time of year, it may be postponed until later this term or the beginning of the 2017 school year. Year 5 Great Aussie Bushcamp Postponed

Sunday 6th November, 2016 4:00pm Dear Parents, We have today been advised there are uncontrolled bushfires occurring on the Mid-North Coast of NSW near the vicinity of Great Aussie Bush Camp. This has resulted in evacuations in the township of Karuah and closure of parts of the Pacific Motorway. Following a risk assessment based upon all available information, the Year 5 excursion to Great Aussie Bush Camp will be postponed to ensure the safety of our students. 2017 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2016, all NSW public schools will receive a 2017 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. Road Safety - 40km/h School Zones

Road Safety - 40km/h School Zones The 40km/h school zone slows traffic in the vicinity of the school. Most 40km/h school zones operate between 8am and 9.30am and from 2.30pm till 4pm. The 40km/h school zone speed limit must be observed even if school children cannot be seen. A 40km/h school zone operates on all school days including staff development days (pupil free days). Jump Rope for Heart

Our school is participating in the Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart program and we would love your support! 5 cents

5 Cent Friday Fundraiser

Our P&C are raising funds for new sporting equipment for the school and will be doing so through running ‘5 Cent Friday' for the first eight weeks of this term. Students are requested to bring in 5 cent coins each Friday. These will be collected and tallied by the P&C with a prize being awarded to the class who raises the most money at the end of the eight weeks. We hope our students and families can support our wonderful P&C in their fundraising by remembering to bring in any 5 cent coins on Fridays.... Read more


Stage 2 & 3 Gymnastics Program

This term, Stage 2 & 3 students have the exciting opportunity to participate in a specialised eight week gymnastics program. The program, run by Sportspro, enhances students movement skills by emphasising the six dominant areas of gymnastics: landings, static positions, swing, rotations, spring, height and/or flight. GRIP Leadership Conference

The GRIP Student Leadership Conference is unique in that it concentrates specifically on training student leaders for their role as SCHOOL LEADERS. The style, topics, and content of this conference all focus on what the students can do RIGHT NOW. On Friday 20th May all of the student leaders and sport captains went to a GRIP Student Leadership Conference at Gosford Leagues Club. School Banking Day is WEDNESDAY

School Banking day is WEDNESDAY Remember, Wednesday is School Banking day and students should bring in their weekly deposit. Each classroom has been supplied with a grey satchel to transport the bank books to the office. Please ask your child to hand their bank books to their teacher. For every deposit made at school, no matter how big or small, students will receive a silver Dollarmites token. Wamberal Public School will transition to the new NSW public schools' finance system and a new bank account on 16 May 2016. Premier's Reading Challenge

Our School will be taking part again in the Premier's Reading Challenge. The Challenge runs from 7 March to 19 August (11:59pm) 2016. Ongoing reading is encouraged. Books read from 1 September 2015 can count towards the 2016 Challenge.
